Officials were forced to shut down Avalon Beach, N.J. August 26,2008after the discovery of medical waste, such as needles, cotton swabs and other ancillary supplies. My diorama depicts this medical waste along with the other not so news worthy human waste that is found on so many of our American shoreline. I want everyone who sees my diorama to be inspired to put waste in a more proper place and to keep our beaches safe. Sincerely, Terri Cloakey
